SUMMER PLANS - UWU

Imagen
I generally like to go on vacation when it is summer, especially if it involves going to the beach or to another nearby Latin American country. For example, last year I went to Guatemala and Honduras. It was an incredible experience. Now, this year it will be much more difficult to travel due to the coronavirus and the health barrier. Or rather, it will be impossible to travel. Anyway, faith is the last thing you lose and with my girlfriend we want to rent a cabin on a nearby beach where there aren't many people. Last year we went to El Canelo together and I think that after all this difficult year we deserve a break. It was very beautiful and we have incredible photos of El Canelo. Hope we can go in January. My family will go on a trip to the south but I will not be able to accompany them because they are leaving for two weeks, and I need that time to work on my thesis and some works in sociology. I have no doubt that they will have a great time, but I suppose the holidays are o...

TV SHOW AND SERIES - Machos

Imagen
I have never really liked watching series, because I have always thought that I could be occupying that time studying something or reading. In short, doing something more productive than sitting in front of the television. In addition, I perceive that series often tend to lengthen for no apparent reason. For example, I once tried to watch the Narcos series, which tells the story of Pablo Escobar. However, I felt that the director was making it too long and was stealing my time. For this reason, I do not enjoy any type of series in particular, as I usually avoid them. Even so, if I had to choose one, I would stick with Machos, released in 2003 on Channel 13. This is a masterpiece of Chilean productions, in addition to having a spectacular cast. The series tells the story of the Mercader family, made up of seven brothers, all men. Throughout the chapters, the interlocks and family dramas are shown, as well as the conflicts that emerge between the different siblings. I like it because...

My future job

Imagen
Currently I have a degree in sociology, so my future work is not too far away. I would like to work in a research center that allows me to develop as an academic in those topics that are of interest to me, such as social structure, development in Latin America and public policies. I imagine it to be quite productive and enriching, in addition to allowing me to network with many researchers on the topics I mentioned. Obviously it would be indoor work most of the time. However, when doing interviews or producing information in the field, it would be outdoor work. The truth is, I would not like to travel so much for work, because I like the idea of being stable in one place (my apartment in San Miguel). Anyway, if they offer me a stable job in a Latin American country with a good salary. As for what I hope to earn working in Chile, I settle for a salary that allows me to live and buy an old apartment in the long term.

MY FAVORITE MOVIE - Taxi Driver

Imagen
My favorite movie is Taxi Driver, directed by Martin Scorsese. The film tells the story of Travis, played by Robert DeNiro, a veteran of the Vietnam War who comes to New York to find a job. In this, he leans towards working as a taxi driver and driving through the streets of the city and his memories of the war intersect with his daily life. I like the film because it delivers a message that is not perceptible at first glance, in addition to the fact that the aesthetic elements are very well cared for. I generally really like 60-70 movies a lot, especially gangster and cowboy movies. My favorite gangster movie is "Once Upon a Time in America", while my favorite cowboy movie is "Once Upon a Time in the West". Both are movie classics. The last movie I saw is "Agent Topo" and it's Chilean. I highly recommend it.

CONCERT EVER - 50 Cent

Imagen
I remember when I went to the 50 Cent concert with G-Unit members Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks. It was at the Movistar Arena in 2008 and I was just 11 years old. At that time I was a very fan of 50 Cent and I really wanted to go, so my dad agreed to accompany me even though he didn't know anything about 50 Cent (thank goodness, because if he had met him he would not have accompanied me) . The place was not completely full, but the atmosphere was very enveloping because all the people knew all their songs. Also, there were some touches of humor because 50 Cent would sometimes ask the audience questions in English and obviously no one understood, so he laughed at us. I really enjoyed the concert, it was very entertaining and I just bought your CDs, which were the first of my great collection. Besides my dad, my best friend accompanied me at that time and he also enjoyed it. Finally, when the concert ended and 50 Cent, Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks were leaving, they came out through a tun...
